On June 28, the MEMS sensor innovation technology and application docking summit and the second MEMS branch market annual meeting of the China Semiconductor Industry Association were held in Suzhou Industrial Park. The meeting focused on many hot areas such as robots, unmanned aerial vehicles, ARVR, wearable, smart home, smart medical, automotive electronics, industry 4.0, and presented the relatively unfamiliar emerging MEMS industry in a more grounded form.
It is understood that although China's MEMS industry started late, the regional pattern of the industry has been formed and continues to strengthen. Suzhou Industrial Park has formed a perfect layout of MEMS industrial innovation chain, namely, design - product development - process validation - pilot engineering - packaging - testing - integrated application. In 2014, more than 50 enterprises and institutions have gathered in the field of MEMS industry in the park, with an annual output value of about 2.2 billion yuan, accounting for about 11% of the country, and 2000 employees. At present, more than 30 well-known universities and research institutes at home and abroad related to MEMS technology, such as the Suzhou Nanometer Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Suzhou Institute of Electronics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Southeast University and Xi'an Jiaotong University, have been gathered to carry out innovative research and development, industrialization and talent cultivation. With the increase of the scale of the wafer level packaging (WLCSP) line of Jingfang Semiconductor and the formal operation of the MEMS pilot platform of Suzhou Nanocity, the ecological environment for the development of the MEMS industry in the park has been basically established, and the upstream and downstream links of the industrial chain development are all covered. The industrial ecological effect will accelerate the rapid gathering of domestic and foreign MEMS industrial projects and industrial talents in the park.
